Jamie Tye

Corporate Benefits Development Executive

Introducing Jamie

My background is in business development and partnerships, with a strong focus on the employee benefits and financial wellbeing space. Over the last few years, I’ve worked with a wide range of organisations, helping them implement solutions such as salary exchange pensions, private medical insurance, health cash plans, and wider wellbeing benefits. I actually came into the industry by chance during Covid, when the company I was working for closed down. I took an opportunity in the benefits sector, and since then my passion for the work has really grown. I now specialise in building partnerships, tailoring solutions, and helping companies deliver real value to their employees, which is what led me to my current role.

Day to day, my role involves working with companies to understand their employee benefit needs and then helping them find the right solutions, whether that’s financial wellbeing products, salary exchange schemes, private medical insurance, or health cash plans. I spend a lot of time building relationships with HR and finance teams, managing partnerships with providers, and ensuring that what we recommend is always in the best interests of the client.

In terms of specialisms, I focus on salary exchange pensions, healthcare benefits, and financial wellbeing, as well as building whole-of-market solutions that save employers money while improving employee support. I also specialise in developing partnerships and tailoring benefits strategies to each organisation, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy most about my job is being able to genuinely support companies with their employee benefits offering. I like that I can bring together a wide range of solutions—from helping employees save money through financial wellbeing initiatives, to providing health products that give them support when they need it most. Knowing that what I do can make a real difference to both employees and employers is what makes the role so rewarding for me.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Outside of work, most of my time is spent with my three active children who all play sports, so weekends are often taken up supporting them from the sidelines. When I’m not at a match, I enjoy walking our cockapoo, Dotty, and spending quality time with my family. If I get a bit of time to myself, I also enjoy playing golf.

One thing that is guaranteed to make your day better…

One thing that’s guaranteed to make my day better is receiving a call from a client to thank me for introducing a product to them. It’s even more rewarding when they’ve had to use it and share how positive their experience has been. I’m fortunate that this happens quite often, and it’s a real reminder of the impact these benefits can have.

What made you decide to do the work you’re currently doing?

I actually came into this space by accident. During Covid, the company I was working for closed down and jobs were extremely scarce, so I took an opportunity in the employee benefits sector—an industry I hadn’t really considered before. Since then, I’ve developed a real passion for the work. I love the impact it has on both employers and employees, and I honestly couldn’t see myself doing anything else now

What is one personal rule that you never break?

One personal rule I never break is to always be honest and transparent—whether that’s with clients, colleagues, or partners. I believe trust is the foundation of long-term relationships, and being upfront ensures people know they can rely on me.

What would your specialist subject be on Mastermind?

My specialist subject on Mastermind would be employee benefits and financial wellbeing—everything from salary exchange pensions to private medical insurance. It’s the area I’ve built deep expertise in, and I genuinely enjoy talking about it. If I had to pick a lighter topic, it would probably be football, as I spend a lot of weekends around the sport with my kids
